IN MEMORY

Many people across the National Association of Boys & Girls Clubs will be saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Donaldson, former Chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Scotland.

Bill was a particularly strong supporter of the Four Nations Football Tournament that used to take place across the May bank holiday. He was a great host of the tournament whenever it was Scotland’s turn to do so and would set high standards for others to follow.

NABGC Trustees, Alan Watson and Joff Carroll offered their own testimonies and memories of Bill.

Alan said, “I met Bill on many memorable occasions during my time as NABGC England football manager. Bill was a great character and afraid to call a spade a shovel. He put his heart and soul into BGC Scotland and his hard work and commitment should never be forgotten. He was totally dedicated and a Boys Clubs legend. God bless you Bill.”

Joff’s memories were equally as fond, “I personally have some great memories of Bill and enjoyed his company on many occasions. He truly was a legend and will be remembered with fondness by those of us who were fortunate enough to have known him. We send our deepest sympathies to Bill’s family at this very sad time.”

All at the National Association of Boys & Girls Clubs echo Alan and Joff’s sentiments that our sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with Bill’s family. He will be deeply missed by all across the Boys & Girls Clubs network.
