The annual America Challenge, organised by Essex Boys & Girls Clubs is now open to young people from all NABGC member clubs.
The challenge is a 3.5 week trip to Tennessee, to experience The Great Smoky Mountains, The Appalachian Trail and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Young people complete their John Muir Award, which focuses on appreciating wildernesses areas. The challenge is open to young people who will be aged 18-21yrs by 26th August 2016. Young people must be nominated by their Club Leader.
There are 3 places available to the NABGC network.
In addition EBGC will take 3 young people from their own club network and the trip will be led by Juliet Townsend who co-led the trip in 2014 and 2015, plus a second member of EBGC staff yet to be announced.
The cost to NABGC members is £1,900 per person, which includes flights, accommodation, food, activities and staff support. The only thing not included is transport to the airport, personal spending money (ie: for souvenirs or treats) and personal kit (certain items may be available to borrow).
